Tile & Error ยท an independent practice app for American Mah Jongg

Practice American Mah Jongg at your own pace.

Big tiles. No timer. Works with the card you already own. And it tells you why a pass or a discard is the right one, so the game starts to make sense.

Made for the first few months after your class

You took the lessons. You bought the card. Then the first open-play night came and the table moved faster than you could read. That is normal, and it is exactly the stretch this app is for.

Questions people ask

Is this the National Mah Jongg League's app?
No. This is independent and not affiliated with the League. You keep using their card; you type the hands you want to practise into the app yourself.
Which rules?
American Mah Jongg, the game played with the yearly card, Jokers and the Charleston. Not Chinese, Japanese or Hong Kong mahjong, and not the tile-matching solitaire game.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It opens in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer. You can add it to your home screen if you like.
Who is making it?
Dylan, an independent developer, building it in the open with early learners. Parts of the app and its lessons are written with AI assistance and checked by people who play.
When does it open?
The first drills in about three months. Founding members try them first.
